Pupils at Ysgol y Lawnt primary school have made the news for their Fairtrade efforts
All of us at Fair Trade Wales would like to say a massive well done to everyone at Ysgol y Lawnt who have made the news after achieving Fairtrade status.
The primary school in Rhymney has become the first in Caerphilly to gain Fairtrade status after incorporating the Fairtrade ethos into their school day and curriculum.
Pupils, staff, parents and school governors all joined in on the Fairtrade efforts and have impressed the local community with their Fairtrade curries and cookies as well as the holding of a Fairtrade tea party. It is not just the local community that has been impressed, Rhymney and Merthyr Tydfil AM Huw Lewis has shown his excitement and congratulated the school for their achievements.
