Volunteer roles
We are looking for speakers and assessors to assist with the Fairtrade School Scheme. The Fairtrade Schools Scheme is a system set up to help schools with their Fairtrade activities. We provide schools with information, resources and support with the aim of raising Fairtrade awareness and activity in young people. Schools can achieve Fairtrade status, and attain a certificate to show their dedication to Fairtrade.
Many schools across Wales are keen to participate in the Fairtrade Schools Scheme. Therefore we are looking to recruit volunteer speakers and assessors to work with schools in their local area. For both roles, you would be provided with complete training, resources and expenses.
School Speaker
This would require visiting schools that have requested a Fairtrade Speaker. You would need to have an interest in Fairtrade, be a confident speaker, and work well with children. A training day will be provided as well as resources for you to use. You can volunteer as little or as much as you like, suitable to your schedule.
Assessor
This would require assessing/marking the schools' Fairtrade applications. Applications will be forwarded to you, so this work can be done from home. You will be given criteria by which to mark the applications, and a training day will be provided.
