Volunteer with Shared Interest

Shared Interest want to hear from anyone in Cardiff with an interest in Fairtrade and some spare time to volunteer for Shared Interest. Shared Interest lends money directly to Fairtrade businesses in the developing world, as well as to buyers in the UK, US and Europe.

This money is invested by people in the UK and is pooled together to make payments to over 460 producer groups across 66 countries. Our role within the Fairtrade movement is crucial and we need more investment from people in the UK to further our work.  This is where volunteer ambassadors come in! 

As an volunteer Ambassador you will go into your local community and raise awareness of Shared Interest at as grass roots level to increase the number of investors and to spread the word about all the good things we are doing. The role can include having stalls with information at various Fairtrade Events, doing talks to interested groups such as faith groups, schools or community groups,  it can even be something small like putting out leaflets in a local Fairtrade café.

There is no minimum or maximum time commitment and because we ask our Volunteer Ambassadors to be proactive in looking for opportunities everything can be fitted around your lifestyle and schedule. Shared Interest will provide training and support for all of our volunteers but ideally would like to recruit people that have a passion for Fairtrade, excellent communication skills and can communicate regularly with our Volunteer Manager.
